Project ForeSight (Horizon Europe Grant Agreement No. 101168521) pioneers a new approach to disaster risk management by developing advanced tools that enhance logistics and emergency response in hazardous, low-visibility environments. Leveraging high-power quantum cascade lasers (QCLs) operating in the long-wave infrared region, the project creates next-generation LiDAR, active illuminators, and beacons capable of penetrating smoke, dust, and fog, thereby providing responders with improved situational awareness, safer navigation, and more efficient deployment of resources in critical missions.
