Flex Lens Positioner

The Flex Lens Positioner can control a centrally mounted optics with four flexure-based decoupled axes with independent actuators in an ultra compact monolithic design. It allows persistent and stable adjustment of the central mounted optics (typically an AR-coated focusing lens) with minimal crosstalk and Abbe errors.
Positioning of optical elements can be subject to extremely tight position tolerances especially when using short focal length, High NA lenses and small target region for light coupling.
Those tolerances are often below a single micrometer.
The Alpes Lasers Flex Lens Positioner overcome the challenges of extremely sensible adjustments for active medium coupling, fiber injection and collimation, nonlinear material crystals, etc…
You can find in this presentation a common example showcasing the use of a Flex Lens Positioner to focus mid-IR light into a single-mode optical fiber with Focal positions sensitivity of 18 microns, showcasing a 20% increase in coupled light as compared to our leading competitor.
