A FP-QCL tunes because of the shift in gain of the structure
with temperature. This tuning is about twice as fast as the index
tuning of DFB-QCLs, i.e about 1.3E-4/K (increasing temperature
will result in increased wavelength).
On a Peltier cooler like the one included in the Alpes Lasers SA Starter Kit, the obtainable temperature span is about 60K (-30...+30C). Therefore the central wavelength can be shifted by about 1.3E-4/K*60K or approximately 0.8% from the lowest to the highest temperature.
